The Manchester 24 Hour Run Against Homelessness is a group relay event that sees runners and walkers complete 5km laps through the city in aid of the Greater Manchester Mayor's Charity.

It will take place from midday on Wednesday 12 November until midday on Thursday 13 November.

Each lap is open to everyone, and will be led by one of our friendly run leaders at a pace that everyone is comfortable with. It's completely free to take part and you don't have to sign up.

The unique format makes it Manchester’s friendliest run. We’re all united under The Greater Manchester Mayor’s Charity’s ethos: together, we can end homelessness.

The Manchester-based charity’s initiative, A Bed Every Night, provides a bed and vital personal support for people facing a night on the streets of Greater Manchester.

In 2025, the event will be Manchester’s seventh edition. We’ve set an ambitious target of matching last year’s incredible effort and raising over £50,000.

We would love for you to join us.

How can I get involved?

If you are arranging for a group to attend, please sign up here:

Group sign up form

Take part - Taking part couldn't be simpler. There's no sign up fee and you don't even have to register in advance (though you can sign up to our mailing list to stay up to date). Just turn up at the venue at any time during the 24 hours and join the next lap, which will take place approximately every 30 minutes. You can run or walk as many, or as few, laps as you would like. If you are arranging for a group to attend, we ask that you fill out our group sign up form so that we can manage our capacity and allocate run leaders accordingly. As the event is a continuous relay, we cannot guarantee an exact start time for each lap. We will post updates on social media and share a live tracker on event day so that you can plan your arrival.

Donate - There is no donation required to join in, however, if you enjoy your lap (or laps!) with us then we would appreciate a donation to our fantastic cause. You can donate through our JustGiving page.. Every £30 that we raise covers the cost of a warm bed and full wrap-around support for someone who really needs it.

Spread the word - Let your friends and family know that you are running with us, share the event on social media, or even set yourself a personal fundraising goal. Big or small, every donation makes a huge difference.

Bring a group - Bring your running club, colleagues, friends or family. If you are planning on bringing a group we ask that you fill out our group sign up form so that we can manage our capacity and allocate run leaders accordingly.

Volunteer - We are always on the lookout for trusty volunteers, including experienced running club ‘run leaders’, to support our events. Further information about how you can sign up will be released at a later date. If you have any questions in the meantime please get in contact - we’d love to hear from you.

Sponsor us - We have a range of sponsorship opportunities available for companies wishing to support the event. Please contact us for more information.

Buy our merchandise - We sell a range of different items including t-shirts, jackets, and hoodies through our Twisted Running page. All profits are put towards covering the costs of our events. Please double check the Twisted Running size guide before ordering to make sure you get the right fit.
